The next generation Guardian 5000™ hotplate stirrers are designed for safety and versatility in research, academic, and industrial settings, offering powerful heating and mixing with advanced hardware and software. Heating models reach up to 550° C and feature three temperature control modes for quick heating or precise heating without overshoot. Five models are available with three plate sizes, including ceramic square top plates or ceramic-coated aluminum round top plates. Applications include temperature-sensitive chemistry and biology, heat fixation, solution pH optimization, solution sterilization, endothermic reactions, denaturing of organic material, sample and solution preparation, dissolving buffers and reagents, preparing media, and boiling. The units feature a backlit LCD display with white characters, integrated heating and stirring status indicators in green, and a prominent hot top indicator in yellow. They operate on 100-120 VAC or 220-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz with rotary switch knobs for control. Communication is enabled via RS232 for data logging and remote control. The device has a robust full metal housing, a high-performance SmCo magnet, and design features including a large dip angle front panel for easy distance monitoring, smooth enclosure surfaces for easy cleaning, an audible alarm, IP32 protection, and an optional rapid install splashing shield.
