The 8X1/4 Phillips truss thread cutting screw type 25 is a fully threaded screw made from zinc bake material. These thread-cutting type-25 screws are designed to provide excellent chip clearance, making them suitable for use in molded or through holes in plastics and other soft materials. The steel screws are intended for soft materials, while the stainless screws should be used in materials with a hardness that is 10-20 Rockwell hardness points lower than the screw. Although truss head screws are weaker than pan or round heads, they are preferred for applications where there is minimal clearance above the head. The modified truss heads feature low clearance and an extra-large bearing surface, making them commonly used for attaching metal lath to metal studs.
