The 1/4-20 x 2 1/2 Phillips flat thread cutting screw type F is a fully threaded screw made of zinc bake, designed for use in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. These thread-cutting type-F screws are particularly effective in materials where the hardness is lower by 10-20 Rockwell hardness when working with stainless steel. The flat head design is ideal for applications where protrusion of the fastener above the mating surface is unacceptable, typically featuring a 100-degree flat or an 82-degree flat head for fastening softer materials.
