The Blickman 7971SS-1 (Paul) instrument and supply cabinet features a design that maximizes storage capacity with five polished glass or stainless steel shelves that are adjustable in 1/2" increments. The cabinet has a sloping top to prevent dust collection and is secured with a locking door latch. It includes three-inch swivel casters, two of which are equipped with brakes, and offers optional stainless steel doors and glides. The materials used in construction are stainless steel, type 300 series, nickel-bearing, and 1/4" (0.64) clear tempered sheet glass. The cabinet features different gauge materials: the body, outer doorframes, and sloping tops are made of 18-gauge steel; door inserts are constructed from 20-gauge steel; and the legs are made from 12-gauge steel. The storage compartment includes a seamless welded face with doubled front edges, complemented by two glass-paneled doors supported by three semi-concealed stainless steel hinges. The outer frame is die-formed to hold a rubber gasketed glass panel and is maintained by removable interior retaining strips. The right-hand door features a locking handle and three-point latching mechanism, while the left-hand door has a dummy knob and spring-loaded nylon roller catches. Additionally, the cabinet's interior can either have five adjustable glass shelves or an 18-gauge stainless steel pegboard. The welding is performed using the Heli-Arc method, ensuring all exposed welds are ground smooth. The cabinet's exposed surfaces are polished to a satin finish, free from pit marks and weld seams. For mobility, the cabinet is equipped with 3" ball-bearing swivel casters, and available options include glides, stainless steel shelves, solid doors, and recessing flanges for built-in units.
