The Edwards 888D and 889D series are diode polarized, heavy-duty, high decibel, vibrating horn signals designed for use in hazardous locations that require electrical supervision of signaling circuit field wiring, including fire alarm systems. These units are suitable for unsupervised signaling applications and feature a corrosion-resistant, heat flowed epoxy finish with low current drain. Two mounting brackets are included for wall mounting, and the housing is tapped on one side for 3/4" (19 mm) conduit, facilitating field wiring installation. They are intended for use in dusty and hazardous atmospheres where a distinctive, urgent signal is necessary, making them ideal for typical applications such as mines, petroleum plants, gas plants, grain elevators, flour mills, paper mills, textile plants, and tankers.
