The Ultratech Ultra-Ada Pad, available in the safety yellow color, is a retrofit detectable warning system designed to aid the visually impaired, featuring dimensions of 2' x 4'. It is offered in four sizes: 2' x 2', 2' x 3', 2' x 4', and 2' x 5'. The flexible construction allows it to conform to dips, slopes, and inclines in sidewalks and walkways, enabling the visually impaired to detect the raised, truncated domes with their feet. This tactile feedback, in conjunction with a tapping cane, provides an alert to a different surface from the surrounding concrete sidewalk and signals an upcoming intersection. The pad installs quickly and easily with the included adhesive and anchors, and boasts better slip and impact resistance than composite alternatives. It is constructed to be unbreakable and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as Title 49 CFR Transportation, Part 37.9 standards for accessible transportation facilities, specifically appendix A, section 4.29.2 regarding detectable warnings on walking surfaces.
