The Ultratech Ultra-Ada Pad in Brick Red is a 2' x 2' detectable warning system specifically designed to aid the visually impaired. It is available in four sizes: 2' x 2', 2' x 3', 2' x 4', and 2' x 5'. The pad features a flexible construction that adapts to dips, slopes, and inclines in sidewalks and walkways, enabling visually impaired individuals to feel the raised, truncated domes with their feet. This tactile feedback, combined with the use of a tapping cane, helps alert users to a change in surface and upcoming intersections. The installation process is straightforward, utilizing adhesive and anchors, which are included in the package. The Ultratech Ultra-Ada Pad provides better slip resistance and impact resistance than composite materials and is unbreakable, ensuring durability. It complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and meets the detectable warnings on walking surfaces section of the ADA, as well as Title 49 CFR Transportation, Part 37.9 standards for accessible transportation facilities, appendix A, section 4.29.2.
