The cast iron flanged ball valve features a PTFE® fused ball, specifically within the 4000 and 3700 series, which is designed to be more durable and less susceptible to buildup compared to standard unprotected balls. The valve incorporates a process developed with DuPont to impregnate PTFE® .008" into a solid metal ball, with an additional .004" applied electrostatically for enhanced smoothness, ensuring that the PTFE® integrates with the metal and does not flake, chip, or peel. This valve boasts superior corrosion and chemical resistance recognized globally, positioning it as a cost-effective alternative to traditional gate valves, while outperforming unprotected metal valves in various applications. The lubricity of the PTFE® ball results in lower torque requirements, making it user-friendly and compatible with smaller, more economical actuators. The 4000 series also offers a full range of actuators, gear operators, and operating nuts, along with a four-bolt actuator mounting pad, which is particularly advantageous for automation needs.
