The cast iron flanged ball valve features a PTFE fused ball, specifically within the 4000 and 3700 series, which is designed to provide enhanced durability and resistance to buildup compared to standard unprotected balls. A proprietary process developed in collaboration with DuPont allows for the impregnation of PTFE at .008 inches into a solid metal ball, with an additional .004 inches added electrostatically for improved smoothness. This innovative construction ensures that the PTFE becomes an integral part of the metal, preventing flaking, chipping, or peeling. The valve offers excellent corrosion and chemical resistance, recognized globally, and presents itself as a cost-effective alternative to typical metal valves in various applications. The lubricity of the PTFE ball results in lower torque requirements for operation, enabling the use of smaller and more economical actuators. A full range of actuators, gear operators, and operating nuts are available for the 4000 series, and the four-bolt actuator mounting pad is specially designed for applications where automation is required.
