The Bluff® aluminum dock board with steel curbs measures 60 x 36 inches and has a 10,000 lb. capacity, designed to speed up loading operations while enhancing safety and reducing labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled steel curbs that provide maximum safety and excellent impact resistance, helping to prevent run-off. The dock board combines a resilient aluminum alloy positive traction surface with bolted-on steel curbs, which offer full-length handgrips for ease and safety in handling. A safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. It is supplied with an 11-degree operating angle unless another angle is specified, and includes an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. The dock board meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than the dock level. Capacity ratings reflect the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, suitable for single shifts with equipment speeds up to 3 mph; for multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5,000 lbs. should be added to the capacity. The width should be 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with the most popular width being 60 inches and a usable width 4 inches less than the overall width. Note that stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used with this dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
