The Bluff® aluminum dock board with steel curbs measures 60 x 48 inches and has a 10,000 lb. capacity, designed to speed up loading operations, enhance safety, and reduce labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface made from a resilient aluminum alloy for positive traction, combined with bolted-on steel curbs that provide excellent impact resistance and help prevent run-off. The steel curbs include a full-length handgrip for ease and safety in handling, and a safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The dock board is supplied with an 11-degree angle by default, unless another angle is specified, and includes an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than the dock level. Capacity reflects the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph; for multi-shift operations or use with 3-wheeled forklifts or paper roll clamps, 5,000 lbs. should be added to the board capacity. The width should be at least 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with 60 inches being the most popular width; usable width is 4 inches less than the overall width. Use with stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, narrow aisle loaders, or refrigerated trucks is not recommended without special dock boards.
