The Bluff® steel dock board with steel curbs measures 72 x 60 inches and has a 10,000 lb. capacity, designed to expedite loading operations while enhancing safety and reducing labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled steel curbs for maximum safety. The heavy-duty, all-welded steel construction provides maximum impact resistance, strength, and durability, making it suitable for frequent motorized traffic. The board includes lifting chains and a curb that offers a full-length handgrip to facilitate safe handling. A safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The board is supplied with an 11° angle of operation unless otherwise specified and has an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than dock level. The capacity rating accounts for the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph. For multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, add 5,000 lbs. to the capacity. The width of the dock board should be 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with 60 inches being the most popular width; usable width is 4 inches less than the overall width. Note that stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used on this dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
