The kit includes various features designed for secure, reliable, and quiet operation. It has a right-hand butt hinge that is recessed into the doorframe to prevent tampering with the hinge pin. All door openings utilize mortise and tenon construction combined with spot welding for enhanced rigidity. The continuous door strike guarantees secure closure, and the strikes are padded to minimize closing noise. Both single and double tier models come equipped with a recessed handle that ensures a smooth, catch-free front while protecting padlocks from tampering. The latching channels incorporate nylon glides to further decrease sound during operation. These single tier lockers are equipped with 3-point latching (top, bottom, and sides), and the legs add 6 inches to the height. For increased safety, it is advisable to anchor the lockers to the floor and/or wall. The lockers feature a durable powder coat finish. Note that, effective March 1, 2021, champagne color finished Vanguard and Guardian lockers maintain consistent color throughout, while gray color finished quick ship Vanguard lockers are also uniform. Other color finishes in Vanguard and Guardian will feature common champagne color body parts, and single solid colors are available with longer lead times and an additional charge.
