The kit includes various features to ensure secure, reliable, and quiet use, including a right-hand butt hinge that is recessed into the doorframe, preventing tampering with the hinge pin. All door openings are constructed using mortise and tenon construction with spot welding for enhanced rigidity. The continuous door strike ensures secure closure, and the strikes are padded to dampen closing noise. Both single and double tier models are equipped with a recessed handle that allows for a smooth, catch-free front while protecting padlocks from tampering. Latching channels utilize nylon glides to minimize sound during operation. The single tier lockers feature a 3-point latching system (top, bottom, and sides) and are raised by 6 inches with legs. It is recommended to anchor the lockers to the floor and/or wall for added safety. The lockers have a powder coat finish, and as of March 1, 2021, champagne color finished Vanguard and Guardian lockers are uniformly colored throughout, while the gray color finished quick ship Vanguard lockers have consistent coloration. Other color finishes in Vanguard and Guardian will incorporate common champagne color body parts, with single solid colors available at longer lead times and additional charges.
