The Chalfant Energy Saving Dock Seal is designed to reduce energy costs while safeguarding workers and merchandise from external elements. It effectively seals against hot or cold temperatures, wind, rain, snow, dust, and fumes when a truck or trailer backs up against it, compressing the 12" W x 10" D polyurethane foam pads that are covered with 40 oz. abrasion-resistant and flame-resistant vinyl for heavy, frequent usage. The dock seal features heavy-duty wear pleats on the side panels to absorb abrasion and is factory mounted on 2" thick kiln-dried wood wall mounting bases. All necessary installation hardware is included, and the design incorporates 4" yellow safety stripes for enhanced visibility. It is intended for level approaches with a flush dock face, and seals should project 4" - 6" past the bumper (bumpers sold separately). For ordering the correct dock seal, it is important to provide specific details such as door size (W' x H'), dock bumper projection (inches), dock ledge projection (inches), dock height (inches), and the incline or decline percentage if the approach is not level. An approval drawing will be submitted prior to manufacturing, and any modifications may affect the final price of the seal.
