The Chalfant Energy Saving Dock Seal is designed to reduce energy costs while providing protection for workers and merchandise from external elements. The kit includes polyurethane foam pads measuring 12" W x 10" D, which are covered with 40 oz. abrasion-resistant and flame-resistant vinyl for heavy and frequent use. The dock seal features heavy-duty wear pleats on the side panels to absorb abrasion, and it is factory mounted on 2" thick kiln-dried wood wall mounting bases. All installation hardware is provided, and the seal is equipped with 4" yellow safety stripes for enhanced visibility. It is designed for a level approach with a flush dock face, and the seals should project between 4" to 6" past the bumper (bumpers sold separately). For ordering the appropriate dock seal, it is necessary to provide the door size (W' x H'), dock bumper projection, dock ledge projection, and dock height. If the approach is not level, tapered seals must be ordered, and the percentage of decline or incline should be specified. The product includes a fixed head curtain instead of a header pad, and an approval drawing will be submitted prior to manufacturing. Note that some modifications may affect the final price of the seal.
