The Chalfant Energy Saving Dock Seal is designed to cut energy costs while providing protection for workers and merchandise from external elements. The unit features truck or trailer pads that compress against the seal, forming an effective barrier against extreme temperatures, wind, rain, snow, dust, and fumes. This dock seal includes polyurethane foam pads measuring 12" W x 10" D, which are covered with durable, abrasion-resistant, flame-resistant 40 oz. vinyl to withstand heavy and frequent usage. It comes factory-mounted on 2" thick kiln-dried wood wall mounting bases, with all necessary installation hardware included. The design incorporates 4" yellow safety stripes for enhanced visibility and is intended for a level approach with a flush dock face. The seals are specified to project 4" - 6" past the bumper, with bumpers sold separately. For accurate ordering, please have the following information available: door size (W' x H'), dock bumper projection, dock ledge projection, dock height, and if the approach is not level, tapered seals should be ordered, noting the percentage of decline or incline. The dock seal features a fixed head curtain instead of a header pad, and an approval drawing will be submitted prior to manufacturing. Some modifications may increase the final price depending on the extent of the changes.
