Idem Guard locking switches are designed for robust position interlock detection for moving guards, featuring a locking mechanism that ensures the guard remains closed until a hazard is removed. These tongue-operated switches are suitable for attachment to the leading edge of sliding or hinged machine guards, offering positively operated switching contacts and a tamper-resistant key mechanism that is not easily defeated. Depending on the risk assessment for the specific application, the switches can function independently to provide positively operated contacts compliant with EN60947-5-1, or they may be used in conjunction with dual channel safety monitoring relays to achieve up to PL e category 4 according to ISO 13849-1 or SIL3 per EN62061.
