IdeM Guard locking switches are engineered for robust position interlock detection for moving guards, featuring a lock mechanism that ensures the guard remains closed until the hazard is eliminated. Designed for tongue operation, these switches are suitable for attachment to the leading edge of sliding or hinged machine guards, providing positively operated switching contacts and a tamper-resistant key mechanism that is difficult to defeat. Depending on the risk assessment of the application, the switches can function independently to deliver positively operated contacts compliant with EN60947-5-1 or in conjunction with any dual-channel safety monitoring relays to achieve up to PLe category 4 according to ISO13849-1 or SIL3 as per EN62061.
