Product Details
The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/4 HP and operates at 83 RPM, boasting a gear ratio of 29 to 1. It supports an overhung load capacity of 267 pounds, with a full load torque of 155 lb. in. The gearmotor is designed with a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure and a 34 frame, operating at 90V with a nameplate current of 2.3 amps. This gearmotor is specifically designed for continuous duty service, utilizing a totally enclosed permanent magnet DC motor. The gearbox is constructed from rugged aluminum die-cast housing that maximizes gear and bearing support, featuring precision machined gearing that is hardened for enhanced load capability. All gearing meets AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of 200%. Key features include oversized output bearings for increased overhung load capacity, a high-carbon alloy output shaft for superior strength and rigidity, and precision-ground needle bearing journals for optimal finish and fit. The gearmotor is equipped with heavy-duty industrial oil seals to retain lubricant and exclude contaminants, with gears and bearings splash lubricated in permanent heavy-duty gear oil. The design allows for mounting at any angle, although shaft-up orientation with the motor positioned below should be avoided to prevent lubricant leakage into the motor in the event of a shaft seal failure. The listed overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque exceeds the recommended full load torques, necessitating the use of a current limiting device, such as an SCR control, to avert potential damage. Model PE350 gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bodine's "E" box and many Baldor gearmotors, ensuring compatibility with motor controls and drives.
