The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design, providing a power output of 1/8 HP at 24 RPM with a gear ratio of 76 to 1. It can handle an overhung load of 353 pounds and delivers a full-load torque of 280 lb. in. The motor has a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure and is built on a 30 frame, operating at 90V with a nameplate current rating of 1.3 amps. This unit is a permanent magnet DC gearmotor designed for continuous duty, featuring precision-machined in-line steel gears, beginning with a first-stage steel helical gear followed by spur-type gears. Lubrication is provided by permanent semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage risks, while output shafts are supported by needle bearings for high load capacities and crafted from hardened steel. While the motor is designed for mounting at any angle, it is advised to avoid mounting with the shaft up and motor below to prevent lubricant leakage if the motor's shaft seal fails. The stall torque of the motor exceeds the recommended full load torque, and a current limiting device, such as an SCR control, is recommended to avoid damage. Model 300 gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bison's 300 and many Dayton gearmotors. The motor is compatible with Bison model 011-336-2082, Bodine model 4156 (Leeson gearbox mounting face includes 3-point mounting, and Leeson armature voltage is 90V DC), and Grainger/Dayton model 4Z130.
