The DC gearmotor with a parallel shaft features a power rating of 1/20 HP and operates at 51 RPM with a gear ratio of 35 to 1. It supports an overhung load of 281 pounds and has a full load torque of 55 lb. in. The motor is housed in a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure, has a 30 frame size, and is designed to operate at 90V with name plate amps of 0.54. This unit is a permanent magnet DC gearmotor, optimized for continuous duty performance, and includes precision machined in-line steel gears with a first stage steel helical gear, followed by spur-type gears. It is lubricated with permanent semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage, and the output shafts are equipped with needle bearings to accommodate high load capacities. The hardened steel shafts enhance durability. Although the motor can be mounted at any angle, it is advised to avoid the shaft-up position with the motor below to prevent potential lubricant leakage if the shaft seal fails. The overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque surpasses the recommended full load torques, necessitating a current limiting device like an SCR control to avoid damage. Model 300 gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bison's 300 and several Dayton gearmotors.
