The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/4 HP, operating at 42 RPM, and a gear ratio of 58 to 1. It has an overhung load capacity of 327 pounds and a full load torque of 280 lb. in. The gearmotor is equipped with a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure and is constructed for continuous duty service with a 34 frame and a voltage rating of 90V, drawing name plate amps of 2.3. This gearmotor includes a rugged aluminum die cast housing for enhanced gear and bearing support, precision machined gearing that is hardened for maximum load capability, and all gearing rated to AGMA class 9 standards to withstand momentary shock overloads of 200%. Key features include oversized output bearings for increased overhung load capacity, a high-carbon alloy output shaft for strength and rigidity, and precision-ground needle bearing journals for optimal finish and fit. Additionally, heavy-duty industrial oil seals prevent lubricant leakage and dirt ingress, while the gears and bearings are splash lubricated with permanent heavy-duty gear oil. The gearmotor can be mounted at any angle, although positioning the shaft upwards with the motor below is not recommended to avoid lubricant leakage into the motor. It is important to note that the motor's stall torque exceeds its recommended full load torque, so a current limiting device such as an SCR control is advised to prevent damage. The model PE350 gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bodine's "E" box and many Baldor gearmotors.
