Product Details
The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/2HP, operating at 33 RPM and a gear ratio of 53 to 1. It has an overhung load capacity of 650 pounds and a full load torque of 822 lb. in. The motor is housed in a totally-enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure, with a P1103-48 frame, and operates at 90V with a nameplate current of 5 amps, making it suitable for continuous duty applications with standard efficiency. This gearmotor is designed with a totally enclosed, permanent magnet DC configuration, ensuring performance matched for continuous duty service. The rugged aluminum die-cast housing provides maximum gear and bearing support, while precision-machined gearing, hardened for maximum load capability, meets AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of up to 200%. It includes oversized output bearings for enhanced overhung load capacity and longevity, and a high-carbon alloy output shaft for maximum strength and rigidity. The needle bearing journals are precision-ground post heat treatment for optimal finish and fit, and heavy-duty industrial oil seals are utilized to retain lubricant and exclude contaminants. The gears and bearings are splash lubricated with a permanent, heavy-duty gear oil. A conduit box is included with the motor, which is designed for mounting at any angle, though shaft-up mounting with the motor below is discouraged to prevent lubricant leakage into the motor in case of a shaft seal failure. The overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque exceeds the recommended full load torques. To prevent damage, a current limiting device such as an SCR control is advised. The model P1100 DC gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bison 483 and many Dayton gearmotors.
