Product Details
The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/2 HP, operating at 42 RPM and a gear ratio of 42 to 1. It is capable of handling an overhung load of 650 pounds and provides a full load torque of 705 lb. in. The gearmotor is equipped with a totally-enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure, framed as P1102-48, and operates at 90V with a nameplate current of 5 amps, suitable for continuous duty with a standard efficiency type. It is a totally enclosed, permanent magnet DC gearmotor specifically designed for continuous duty service. The gearbox features a rugged aluminum die-cast housing that maximizes gear and bearing support, while the precision machined gearing is hardened for optimal load capability. All gearing is designed to AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of up to 200%. The gearmotor includes oversized output bearings for enhanced overhung load capacity and longevity, as well as a high-carbon alloy output shaft for maximum strength and rigidity. The needle bearing journals are precision-ground post heat treating for a superior finish and fit, while heavy-duty industrial oil seals ensure lubrication retention and prevent dirt ingress. The gears and bearings are splash lubricated with durable, heavy-duty gear oil. A conduit box is included, and the gearmotor can be mounted at any angle; however, it is recommended to avoid mounting with the shaft up and the motor below to prevent potential lubricant leakage into the motor due to a failing shaft seal. The overhung load capacities are specified at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque surpasses the recommended full load torques; therefore, a current limiting device such as an SCR control is advised to prevent damage. Model P1100 DC gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bison 483 and various Dayton gearmotors.
