The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with specifications including a power rating of 1/17 HP, a speed of 30 RPM, and a gear ratio of 60 to 1. It offers an overhung load capacity of 155 pounds and a full load torque of 100 lb. in. The gearmotor has a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure, a 30 frame size, and operates at 12V with a nameplate current of 5.2 amps. Engineered for continuous duty, this totally enclosed permanent magnet DC gearmotor incorporates precision machined in-line steel gears, consisting of a steel helical gear in the first stage and spur-type gears in subsequent stages. Its lubrication is provided by permanent semi-fluid grease, minimizing the risk of leakage, while output shafts are supported by needle bearings to accommodate high load capacities. The hardened steel shafts contribute to durability. Although a conduit box is not included with the motor, it is designed for mounting at an angle; however, it is advisable to avoid positioning the motor below the reducer to prevent potential lubricant leakage in the event of a motor shaft seal failure. It’s important to note that the motor’s stall torque may exceed the recommended full load torques, so the use of a current limiting device is recommended if such service conditions are expected. Overhung load capacities are calculated at the center of the output shaft.
