The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/4 HP and operates at 42 RPM, with a gear ratio of 58 to 1. It has an overhung load capacity of 327 pounds and a full load torque of 280 lb. in. The gearmotor is equipped with a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure, a 34 frame, and operates at 180V with name plate amps of 1.2. This model is a permanent magnet DC motor, specifically designed for continuous duty service. The gearbox is constructed with a rugged aluminum die-cast housing that provides maximum support for gears and bearings, featuring precision machined, hardened gearing for enhanced load capability. All gearing complies with AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of 200%. Key attributes include oversized output bearings for improved overhung load capacity and durability, a high-carbon alloy output shaft for enhanced strength, and precision-ground needle bearing journals for optimal finish and fit. Heavy-duty industrial oil seals ensure lubricant retention while preventing dirt ingress, with gears and bearings splash lubricated with permanent, heavy-duty gear oil. Note that the conduit box is not included with the motor. This gearmotor can be mounted at any angle, although mounting with the shaft up and the motor below should be avoided to prevent lubricant leakage if the motor's shaft seal fails. The overhung load capacities are measured at the output shaft's center, and the motor’s stall torque exceeds the recommended full load torques. It is advisable to use a current limiting device, such as an SCR control, to prevent potential damage.
