The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/8 HP, delivering a speed of 31 RPM and a gear ratio of 58 to 1. It has an overhung load capacity of 327 pounds and a full load torque of 220 lb-in. This gearmotor is housed in a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure, constructed with a 30 frame and powered by 12V, drawing 10.6 name plate amps. The unit is a permanent magnet DC gearmotor, specifically performance matched for continuous duty. Key features include precision machined in-line steel gears, a first stage steel helical gear, and subsequent spur-type gears, all lubricated with permanent semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage. The output shafts utilize needle bearings, ensuring high load capacities, while the shafts are made from hardened steel. Although the motor is designed for mounting at any angle, it is recommended to avoid positioning the shaft upwards with the motor below to prevent lubricant leakage if the shaft seal fails. Overhung load capacities are noted at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque surpasses the recommended full load torques. To protect against potential damage, a current limiting device, such as an SCR control, is advised.
