The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/4 HP, operating at 62 RPM with a gear ratio of 43 to 1. It has an overhung load capacity of 303 pounds and a full load torque of 220 lb. in. The motor is equipped with a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure and is rated at 90V with a nameplate current of 2.3 amps. Designed for continuous duty service, the gearmotor incorporates a totally enclosed, permanent magnet DC construction. The gearbox, constructed from rugged aluminum die-cast housing, provides maximum gear and bearing support along with precision-machined gears that are hardened for optimal load capability. All gearing is designed to AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of up to 200%. Key features include oversized output bearings for increased overhung load capacity and longevity, a high-carbon alloy output shaft for maximum strength, and precision-ground needle bearing journals after heat treatment for superior finish and fit. Heavy-duty industrial oil seals are incorporated to maintain lubricant retention while preventing dirt ingress, with gears and bearings splash lubricated using permanent, heavy-duty gear oil. Please note that the conduit box is not included with the motor. This gearmotor can be mounted in various orientations; however, mounting with the shaft facing upwards and the motor below is discouraged to avoid lubricant leakage into the motor in case of seal failure. The overhung load capacities are specified at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque exceeds the recommended full load torque, necessitating the use of a current limiting device, such as an SCR control, to prevent potential damage.
