Product Details
The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/4 HP and operates at 165 RPM, equipped with a gear ratio of 15 to 1. It is capable of handling an overhung load of 232 pounds and delivers a full load torque of 70 lb. in. The gearmotor is housed in a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure, has a 34 frame, and operates on 90V with a nameplate current of 2 amps. This totally enclosed, permanent magnet DC gearmotor is designed for continuous duty service and utilizes a robust aluminum die-cast gearbox for enhanced gear and bearing support, featuring precision machined, hardened gearing that meets AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of 200%. Key features include oversized output bearings for increased overhung load capacity, a high-carbon alloy output shaft for superior strength, and precision-ground needle bearing journals for optimal finish and fit. The gearmotor is equipped with heavy-duty industrial oil seals to retain lubricant and exclude dirt, with gears and bearings splash lubricated by permanent heavy-duty gear oil. The motor should be mounted at any angle, but positioning the shaft upwards with the motor below is not recommended to prevent lubricant leakage in case of seal failure. The overhung load capacities specified are measured at the center of the output shaft, and the stall torque of the motor exceeds the recommended full load torque. To prevent damage, a current limiting device such as an SCR control is advised. Model PE350 gearmotors share the same mounting dimensions as Bodine's "E" box and many Baldor gearmotors.
