Product Details
The DC gearmotor features a parallel shaft design with a power rating of 1/4 HP, operating at 8 RPM and a gear ratio of 212 to 1. It has an overhung load capacity of 700 pounds and provides a full load torque of 1087 lb. in. The motor is housed in a totally-enclosed non-ventilated (TENV) enclosure and adheres to the P1103-48 frame specification with a voltage rating of 90V and nameplate amps of 2.7. It is designed for continuous duty with standard efficiency. The gearmotor comprises a totally enclosed, permanent magnet DC design, making it well-suited for continuous duty service. The gearbox features a rugged aluminum die-cast housing for optimal gear and bearing support, with precision machined gearing that is hardened to enhance load capability. All gearing is designed to meet AGMA class 9 standards and can withstand momentary shock overloads of 200%. Key features include oversized output bearings for increased overhung load capacity and longevity, along with a high-carbon alloy output shaft for maximum strength and rigidity. Needle bearing journals are precision-ground after heat treatment to ensure superior finish and fit, while heavy-duty industrial oil seals serve to retain lubricant and keep contaminants out. The gears and bearings are splash lubricated with permanent, heavy-duty gear oil. A conduit box is included with the motor, which can be mounted at any angle, although mounting with the shaft up and motor below is not recommended to prevent lubricant leakage in the event of a shaft seal failure. The overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft, and the motor's stall torque exceeds the recommended full load torques. A current limiting device, such as an SCR control, is advised to prevent potential damage. The model P1100 DC gearmotors have compatible mounting dimensions with Bison 483 and many Dayton gearmotors.
