The Southwire 22973283 THHN 10 gauge building wire is a stranded type conductor available in black and has a length of 50 ft. It is designed for use in conduit and cable trays for services, feeders, and branch circuits in commercial or industrial applications, adhering to the 2008 National Electrical Code. The wire can be used as Type THHN in dry locations at temperatures not exceeding 90 °C, or as Type THWN-2 or TWN75 in wet or dry locations at the same temperature or not exceeding 75 °C when exposed to oil. When used as Type MTW, it is suitable for wet locations or when exposed to oil at temperatures not exceeding 60 °C, or in dry locations at 90 °C, with ampacity limited to that for 75 °C conductor temperature per NFPA 79. The wire is rated for 600 volts, does not require pulling lubricant for installation, and is compliant with multiple standards, including ASTM, UL Standard 83, UL 1581, and CSA, among others. It features annealed copper conductors, insulated with heat and moisture-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and includes a SIM (SlikQwik® infused membrane) nylon (polyamide) outer layer. The wire is marked and listed in all colors for sizes 2 AWG and larger, and is RoHS compliant, sunlight resistant, and certified to specific requirements for various applications.
