The prefilled 2ml tubes are designed for bead homogenization and contain an appropriate amount of 1.0mm diameter zirconium (ceramic) beads, which are acid washed, heat treated, and certified to be nuclease and protease free. The filling process is tested by qPCR to ensure that the tubes are free of stray DNA, making them suitable for homogenization of fungi, spores, algae, and larger yeasts. Each pack includes 50 tubes, and they are compatible with most bead homogenizers, including the BeadBug 3, BeadBug 6, and BeadBlaster 24.
