Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed to handle up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your needs, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to confirm whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) above the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with the overload, by choosing a current range that encompasses the FLA determined previously. Optional criteria for selecting the starter include the incoming power type: a "direct-online starter" if the line power serves as the control power or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For starters activated by an external switch, terminals are added for remote control, which can be configured for the same line and control voltage or for different voltages with appropriate terminals. The features of the starters include a 9A 3-phase separate coil voltage start/stop, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated at 5.7-7.6A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
