Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of supporting motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate for the specific input voltage, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. Next, choose the control power for closing the contactor and select the overload by identifying a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power type, which can be a direct-online starter or a configuration with a separate control voltage. If external activation is necessary, remote start terminals can be added to accept control power from an external switch, with the assumption that the line and control voltages are the same unless specified otherwise. The key features include a 9A 3-phase direct online start/stop operation, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 1.7-2.3A, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
