Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage, while also confirming whether the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter chosen should have a current rating exceeding the motor's FLA. Control power options include direct-online starters, separate control voltage, or configurations with remote start terminals, which allow activation from an external switch.
