Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power to close the contactor must also be specified, and an overload should be selected based on a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configuration, where the line power may also serve as control power (direct-online starter) or differ from control voltage (separate control voltage). Remote start terminals can be added for external switch activation. Key features include 9A 3-phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and 7.6-10A overload capabilities, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
