Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and an overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. The starter options can be narrowed down based on incoming power, which can either be a "direct-online starter" or a "separate control voltage." If the starter needs activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for this control power, referred to as "remote start terminals." The features of the starter include a 9A 3-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 4.2-5.7A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
