Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) and the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to identify if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor and select the control power used to operate the contactor. The overload must be selected based on a range that includes the FLA determined previously. Further criteria for selection include whether incoming power will double as control power, categorizing it as a "direct-online starter," or if separate control voltage is necessary. For starters requiring activation from an external switch, options for remote start terminals are available, assuming the line and control voltages are the same. Should separate control voltage be utilized alongside remote start terminals, this will be specified accordingly. The starter features a 9A three-phase separate coil voltage start/stop with a 100-250V AC/DC coil and an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
