Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. The starter options include "direct-on-line starter" for when the line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" for different line and control voltages. Additionally, if activation is needed from an external switch, remote start terminals can be included. The motor starter features include a 9A 3-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 2.3-3.1A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
