Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power necessary to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria include selecting incoming power as a "direct-online starter" if the line power will also be used as the control power, or as "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assume that the line voltage and control voltage are the same; otherwise, it is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Attributes include: 9 A, 3 phase, separate coil voltage, start/stop functionality, 100-250 V AC/DC coil, and 4.2-5.7 A overload.
