Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to confirm whether the motor requires single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that accommodates the FLA identified earlier. Additionally, the incoming power must be considered; options include using line power as control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or using a different control voltage, termed "separate control voltage." If activating the starter from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added. Key features of the starter include 9A 3 phase remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, 4.2-5.7A overload, and the durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
