Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and determine if it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for a current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. The control power for closing the contactor must also be selected, and the overload should be chosen from a current range that includes the FLA identified earlier. Optional features help further narrow down choices: for incoming power, options include "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if different. If the starter will be activated from an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, with configurations available for scenarios using the same or different line and control voltages. Key features include 9A 3-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop range of 250-500V AC/DC coil, and an overload rating of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
