Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power, where "Direct-On-Line Starter" refers to using line power as control power, and "Separate Control Voltage" indicates differing control voltage from line voltage. For starters activated from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power input, referred to as "Remote Start Terminals." If utilizing different voltages for line power and control power, this is described as "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals." Key features include a 9A 3-phase separate control voltage start/stop with a 24-60V AC/DC coil and a 3.1-4.2A overload relay in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate housing.
