Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the required input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to identify if the motor is single-phase or three-phase. It is important to select a starter rated for current (amps) that exceeds the FLA of the motor. Next, determine the control power needed to close the contactor and select an overload that encompasses the FLA from the previous step. Additionally, the following optional criteria can be considered: if the line power serves as the control power, it is specified as a "direct-online starter"; if control voltage differs from line voltage, it is categorized as "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals are included, assuming line and control voltages are the same unless stated otherwise. The key features of the motor starter include a rating of 9A, 3 phase operation, separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload range of 3.1-4.2A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
