Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, users should first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming if the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. The chosen starter must be rated for a current higher than the motor's FLA. Additionally, users need to select the control power for the contactor, and choose an overload relay that accommodates the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include selecting the type of incoming power: "Direct-On-Line Starter" if line power is used for control, "Separate Control Voltage" if the control voltage differs, and "Remote Start Terminals" if an external switch is employed.
