Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for motors up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. When choosing a starter, ensure it is rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Additionally, select the control power needed to close the contactor and the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, such as direct-online starters, separate control voltage setups, or options for remote start terminals if the starter needs to be activated from an external switch. Key features of this motor starter include a 9A rating, 3-phase remote start terminals, a reset button, a coil rating of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload current range of 4.2-5.7A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
