Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Additional criteria for selection include incoming power options and control voltage: a "direct-online starter" if line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, applicable for the same or different line and control voltages. The features of the motor starter include 9 A, three-phase operation, separate coil voltage, reset button only, a 250-500 V AC/DC coil, a 1.7-2.3 A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
