Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to check the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, ensuring to confirm if it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is essential to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Next, the control power used to close the contactor should be selected, followed by choosing the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power: "Direct-On-Line starter" if the line power is used as control power, "Separate Control Voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage, and the addition of "Remote Start Terminals" if the starter is activated from an external switch. The starter features include a 9A 3 Phase Direct Online configuration with a reset button, a coil rating of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload rating of 5.7-7.6A, all housed in a durable NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
