Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, noting if it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Select the control power needed to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. The options for incoming power include a "direct-online starter" if line power serves as control power, or "separate control voltage" if control voltage differs from line voltage. Remote start terminals can be added for activation from an external switch, assuming the same voltage is used for both line and control power; if different voltages are used, it is classified as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." Key features include 9 A rating, three-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 250-500 V AC/DC coil, and a 7.6-10 A overload.
